Residential care homes are quickly becoming the suitable alternative to nursing homes for individuals continuing to maintain a moderate level of independence. Choosing Residential Care is ideal when living alone is no longer a safe option.
Cedars understands the needs of our community's seniors and strives to provide care as an alternative to other long-term care facilities. We offer the opportunity for long-term, rehabilitative, and respite arrangements. Cedars is also a great short-term option as a stepping stone to returning to your own home.
Cedars is set apart from the standard "institutional" type facility as it rests on over 18 beautiful acres. We offer an environment that invites you to experience nature and encourages independence, motivation, and quality living.
We are a family owned and operated home with a proven track record of experience and innovation.
ABOUT OUR CAMPUS
Cedars of Liberty occupies the building and campus that was formerly the Precious Blood Seminary School. The Catholic church built and operated the school from 1962 to 1985. At the time, it was a boarding school for young men studying to go into the priesthood with all faculty and students living on site.
The campus operated a tree nursery on the property, and was given various types of trees as a celebration of the school's opening. Hundreds of these trees are here today with over 30 different species that are not indigineous to the state of Missouri. The total property encompasses approx. 80 acres.
Cedars still utilizes the indoor swimming pool (currently under repair), the chapel, and the gymnasium (where the "Buffalos" played their basketball games). We are blessed to have this spacious facility with rooms specifically for recreation, arts and crafts, beauty shop, family/private dining, etc...
